This past summer, I set off on a mission to learn as much about Modern Embroidery as I could. The year before, I tried my hand at embroidering on felted stones. It was fun but didn't completely do it for me. I started searching on Etsy, Instagram, Pinterest, and plenty of other social media websites. I was utterly overwhelmed until I found a group of amazing embroiderers on Instagram. I zoomed in on a particular style that I liked. Artists were using yummy linen, vibrant colors, and bold designs I found my people and a style that fit my personality. Woo Woo!
I started learning all of the stitches, gathering all the supplies, and watching tutorials for hours on end. Soon I got into the swing of things. After months and months of trial and error, I settled into a groove. Yummy fabrics, bold, vibrant colors, and whimsical designs are a few of the things that sucked me into the new world of "Modern" hand embroidery. I noticed I had more fun when I was winging it.
So ... I decided to call this method FrEEStyLe! That was pretty much the clincher for me. I am totally hooked!
Below are a few of the designs I added to My EtsY ShoP in April.
I hope you enjoy checking them out as much as I did making them.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
